Ford backing away in Europe: regional chief says no decision yet on whether to sell Volvo

Article Abstract:

Lewis Booth, chairman of Ford of Europe Inc., has announced that the company will likely sell its premium Land Rover and Jaguar brands, a decision affecting approximately 16,000 employees, primarily in the UK. Booth said, however, that no decision has been made on whether or not to sell its Volvo division.

Ford puts Tata in lead to buy Jaguar, Land Rover

India automaker Tata Motors Ltd. and Ford of Europe Inc. are negotiating details regarding Tata's purchase of Ford's Land Rover and Jaguar vehicle brands. The deal would enhance Tata's position in the global market. Details being negotiated include engine supply contracts.
