FRANCE: RENOVATION OF AUCHAN HYPERMARKETS

Article Abstract:

The Auchan group plans to renovate 120 hypermarkets within five years. These will be brought up to the standards of the new concept which the group has developed in the new hypermarket in the Val d'Europe shopping centre. A total of FFr 1.5bn will be allocated for groups of 30 stores. Ten hypermarkets will be brought up to these new standards in 2001.

France: Auchan meets fund transport norms

Article Abstract:

The Auchan group is gradually making its sales outlets secure in response to the ministerial order of December 2000 concerning the transport of money. It is doing this either by installing a complete system, or by putting in an addition. The Auchan store in Caluire has been equipped with the first Securi-Sas, an addition to the existing system, making it inviolable and providing total security for people and money. The size of this equipment is adjusted to that of the escort units and security guards, providing complete tightness between the lorry and the site.
