France proceeds with Martha army air-defense C2 system

Article Abstract:

Thomson-CSF Airsys will eventually land production contracts from the French Army to provide up to 56 Platoon Command Post (PCP) real-time co-ordination centers. Designated as PCS (Postes de Control de Section) by the French Army, the PCPs are to operate along with the Mistral very short-range and Roland short-range air-defense systems. The Thomson-CSF Airsys PCP, and Mistral and Roland air-defense systems will form the first echelon (NC1) of the Martha air-defense command-and-control system. The Martha (tactical radar network for combating helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft) was designed to operate with the French Air Force's air command-and-control organization for upgrading fire efficiency and for lowering the chances of engaging friendly aircraft.

Denmark integrates SAM Area Communication System

Article Abstract:

INFOCOM Systems A/S, along with Thomson-CSF Communications, has landed a contract from the Danish Air Materiel Command to supply 10 shelter-mounted SAM Communication Units and internal communications equipment. The supplies will allow the service to implement its new SAM Area Communication System (SACS) for the Danish Enhanced HAWK (DEHAWK) surface-to-air missile. The internal communications equipment will circle around the TSS 2000 (Tactical Subscriber Station), while the mobile SCUs of each missile wing will be interconnected via a meshed network of tactical line-of-sight radio links.
