52-caliber enhancement for M109s

Article Abstract:

RDM Technology has begun firing trials of its 'M109-2000' upgrade for the M109-series 155mm self-propelled howitzer system. Aimed at current users of the M109, the M109-2000 features 55mm/52-caliber Extended Range Ordnance (ERO). The most important of the many enhancements in the M109- 2000 upgrade is the integration of a BAE Systems, namely RO Defence ERO, that was designed for the British Army AS90 upgrade project. The ERO provides the M109-2000 an enhanced-range capability, depending on the kind of projectile and charge combination employed.
