France studies steps to fix Airbus problems

EADS France S.A.S. is experiencing delays and unexpected costs with the delivery of the giant A380 aircraft. The French government, which owns 15 percent of the aircraft company, is being criticised by the opposition for not implementing tighter control of management at Airbus S.A.S. and parent company EADS France S.A.S.

France's Total bids $1.12 billion for Canadian firm Deer Creek

TOTAL S.A. of France has bid $1.12 billion (United States) for Deer Creek Energy Ltd. of Canada. The petroleum company is planning to mine oil-sands with production to begin in 2010. Oil price increases have made mining of oil-sands a more lucrative business venture.

Air France, KLM plan linkup

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and Air France will form a partnership in which they will create a join holding firm. The partnership will be deeper than past transnational airline alliances.
