Franco-Rusian artillery scores a bullseye

Article Abstract:

The live-fire test on KBP Instrument Design Bureau's Krasnopol guided artillery projectile and CILAS of France's DHY307 laser designator has passed the initial compatibility test conducted in Russia. The projectiles that were subjected to the test were modifications of the standard 20km-range 152mm Krasnopol 9K25 round, which were fitted with 155mm driving bands, to allow them to be fired from US-built M109 howitzer. KBP developed the Krasnopol-M variant, which weighs only 43 kg and is 1.3m to 0.955m long, to make the system work wih the loading devices, stowage bins and charge systems used in NATO howitzers.

Russian perspective on AIP

Article Abstract:

Russia has a long history of development of AIP technology for submarines, among them are closed-cycle engines and fuel-cell technologies. Special Boiler Design Bureau Joint Stock Co (SKBK JSC) was instrumental in the development of the Kristall-27E fuel-cell plant, which could be delivered between three and five years following the contract signing. Rubin CDBME is also working with SKBK JSC towards the creation of Kristall-27E variants to incorporate with the 'Amur'-class SSKs.
