Article Abstract:
Czech Republic: The imports of petroleum, petroleum products and related materials totalled 7.47 mil t and were worth CEK 61.005 bil over Jan-Oct 2000. For Jan-Oct 1999, 7.559 mil t of petroleum products worth CEK 31.461 bil were imported. The quantity of the imports in Jan-Oct 1999 was higher but their value was 50% smaller compared to the imports in Jan-Oct 2000.

Candy builds a plant in the Czech Republic
Article Abstract:
Candy Elettrodomestici (Italy), household equipment manufacturer, is extending its activities in the Czech Republic. In 2000 the firm decided to invest EUR 50 mil in the construction of a new refrigerator plant in the Czech Republic. The plant is being built in an industrial zone near Podborany, the Czech Republic. The plant should have about 900 employees.
