Frontier earnings plummet 19% on intense price competition

Article Abstract:

Frontier Corp. posted a decline of 19% in its net income for the second-quarter of 1999. The company's figures generally matched what Wall Street analysts had predicted. Frontier posted net income of $37.4 million (35.1 million euros) for the quarter ending on June 30, 1999. This amount comes out to 21 cents per share. During the same period in 1998, Frontier posted $45.9 million in net income.

U.S. judge rejects former CEO's suit against Federated

Article Abstract:

A compensation lawsuit against Federated Department Stores Inc. was withdrawn by a New York federal judge. Judge Lewis A. Kaplan said some of the charges were "patently frivolous" and "academic."
