Fruit juices and soft drinks in Germany, part 1

Article Abstract:

In 1995, the German market for fruit-based and carbonated soft drinks totalled an estimated 9.7 million Deutsche Marks (DM). Sales of fruit and vegetable juices and nectars totalled around DM7.8 million. Imports are valued at DM1.4 billion, of which the majority is in concentrated form. An overview of key trends is given, along with details of production, foreign trade, market trends, distribution, and advertising.

In 1995, fruit juice sales rose 4% to 877 million litres in volume, with value up 2.9% to 611 million pounds sterling. Pure juice represents 75% of the industry, and the market leader is Del Monte, which boasts a 10% share.
