TN PETRO Q3 NET UP 84%

Tamil Nadu Petroproducts Ltd (TNPL) has posted a 84 percent growth in net profit to Rs10.70 crore for the third quarter of 1998-99 (Rs5.81 crore for the third quarter of 1997-98). Its net sales increased by 3.5 percent to Rs87.87 crore (Rs84.87 crore). It posted a gross profit of Rs27.05 crore (Rs20.06 crore). Its interest costs rose to Rs8.90 crore (Rs6.11 crore). It has provided Rs7.45 crore for depreciation (Rs7.30 crore). It posted a net profit of Rs27.77 crore on net sales of Rs271 crore for the nine months ended December 31, 1998. (rk)(vr)
