GM's carefree ads

Article Abstract:

Generals Motors Co. of Canada taps fashion magazines for the carefree ads of the Sunfire Cabriolet convertible. The ads, created by Montreal-based Cossette Communication-Marketing, ran in such Quebec, Canada, publications as Magazine les Ailes de la Mode, Femmes Plus, Clin d'Oeil and Elle Quebec. The French-only print ads, which highlights the ABS, UVA and UVB protection of the Sunfire, bagged the Gold in the magazine category at the 1998 Coq d'Or awards. Women car buyers are the the target of the three-part series of print ads.

Nikon zooms in on magazines

Nikon Canada Inc., based in Ontario, Canada, succeeded in showing the reader the value of its binoculars via the award-winning "Any Premium Binocular" and "You See A Coniferous" ad campaign created by Toronto, Canada-based Publicis SMW. The ad bagged the gold in the magazine single category at the 1998 Marketing Awards. Throughout 1997, the ad came out in such national publications as Birders Journal, Canadian Gardening, Nature Canada, Cottage Life, Sky News, Seasons, Outdoor Canada and Canadian Geographic.

Kraft's media review a blow to Y&R

Article Abstract:

Kraft Foods Inc has transferred its Jell-O account from New York-based advertising agency Young and Rubicam to FCB Wordlwide. In addition, the Northfield, IL-based company announced plans to streamline its media planning and buying operations in North America. The twin announcements come after the appointment of Kraft Canada president Irene Rosenfeld as group vice president for Kraft Foods.
