MNCS DEFAULT ON TDS FRONT, SAY I-T SURVEYS

Article Abstract:

The Income Tax Department surveyed about 30 multinational companies operating in India to find out defaults in tax deduction at source (TDS). It recovered Rs85 crore as tax from the defaulting companies. The companies surveyed for the purpose included LG Electronics, Samsung Electronics, Japan Airlines, Lufthansa Airlines, National Panasonic, Alcatel South Asia Pacific, IKEA, Hyundai Engg & Construction Co, Daewoo Motors India. SHANU MUKHERJEE IS A-I's COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR

Article Abstract:

Mr Shanu Mukherjee has been appointed as the commercial director of Air-India. He was previously its director for inflight service and business development and concurrently the managing director of Hotel Corporation of India. He is credited with the renovation of the Centaur Hotels in Delhi and Mumbai, streamlining operations and giving a greater thrust to marketing and sales. (khr)
