George Lucas chosen to develop Presidio park in San Francisco

Article Abstract:

Lucasfilm Ltd., the filmmaking company owned by George Lucas, has been selected by the trustees of the new Presidio national park to develop a motion picture complex at the site. The former Presidio military base has become part of the Golden Gate National Recreational Area. The new film complex will include Lucasfilm, Industrial Light and Magic, THX Group, and LucasArts Entertainment Co. The proposal by Lucasfilm won over another bid by real estate giant Walter Shorenstein.

Protestors are likely to present a peaceful front this time

Article Abstract:

Thousands of protesters are expected to appear at the September 2003 World Trade Organization meeting in Cancun, Mexico. However, the protesters are expected to be more peaceful during this meeting, compared to the 1999 Seattle conference.
