German exports, industrial output signal weakness

Article Abstract:

Germany's Federal Statistics office announced that imports and exports attained their highest levels yet, creating a 198.8-bil euro trade surplus for 2007. However, exports decreased in December for the first time in over four years, by 1.2%. The German Economics Ministry announced 0.8% adjusted growth for industrial production, and 4.1% annual growth.

Trade deficit narrows as farm exports grow

Article Abstract:

The trade deficit of France declined in February, as exports of agricultural products outpaced imports of consumer goods. The balance of trade narrowed to 2.02 billion Euros ($2.44 billion) from 3.41 billion Euros in January.
