German futures exchange, Eurex mull partnership

Article Abstract:

Eurex is negotiating with Warenterminboerse Hannover AG, the struggling German futures exchange, about a possible partnership. Although Eurex departing director Joerg Franke confirmed they were negotiating, he would not reveal whether they were discussing anything about a possible takeover.

Eurex will set up company to handle cash bond trading

Eurex, the German-Swiss futures exchange, plans to form a new company from the partnership of 12 international banks and traders that will handle the launch of electronic cash trading of government bonds.

Euronext confirms talks with Liffe on possible bid

Euronext S.A. confirmed that it was engaged in takeover bid negotiations with the London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange (Liffe). Euronext is a pan-European stock exchange operator.
