'Intense price competition drags HKT profit down 90%

Cable and Wireless HKT Ltd. had a 90% drop in net profits from 1998 to 1999. Competition in telecommunications in Asia is discussed along with HKT's financial results, and a proposed merger with Pacific Century CyberWorks Ltd. The firm will focus on expanding broadband and other services which cater to Internet-based users.

Warburg climbs ranks with one big deal
