The Chinese city of Shenzhen has quickly acquired the trappings of Western civilization with a Chinese flair, including several theme parks. Among these is Windows on the World, a collection of the 118 best sites outside China, miniaturized and located on 480,000 sq meters. Others are China Folk Culture Villages, duplicating ethnic-minority villages; Honey Lake Resort, an amusement park; and Splendid China, which recreates China's greatest sites, again in miniature.

The indian royal families are cashing on their celebrity status and their rich traditional palaces. The palaces are being converted to hotels and deals are struck with the tourism departments to include the visits to these royal families as part of the tourism schedule, branding their maharaja status. This is more popular in Rajasthan, where the number of such palaces is high.
