Governmental investment incentives in the Czech Republic

Article Abstract:

Arrow International CR (AI) (Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic), healthcare equipment and device manufacturer, plans to invest 420 mil Kc in the extension of its production from 2000. Besides production, the firm will invest in an increase in its distribution capacities. AI will receive an investment incentive from the Czech government for its projects. Candy Elettrodomestici (CE) (Italy, household appliance manufacturer, plans to invest nearly 1.1 bil Kc in a refrigerator and freezer plant in the Czech Republic from 2000. The firm will receive an investment incentive for the investment from the Czech government. Besides, some ministries in the Czech Republic are evaluating six applications of foreign firms for investment incentives in the middle of 2000. The applications represent total planned investments of 430 mil USD and the setting up of 3,500 new jobs by 2005.

Mobile telephones in the Czech Republic

Article Abstract:

Czech Republic: About 3.5 mil clients should have mobile telephones by the end of 2000. The three Czech mobile operators have more than 2.9 mil active clients in the middle of 2000, 29% of domestic population. The largest Czech mobile operator is Eurotel (Czech Republic), which had about 1.5 mil clients in the middle of July 2000, 430,000 more compared to the beginning of 2000. The second operator is Radiomobil (Czech Republic), which had 1.35 mil clients in the network Paegas in July 2000, 475,000 more compared to the beginning of 2000. The third operator is Cesky Mobil (CM) (Czech Republic), which started its commercial operation on 01 March 2000. CM had 72,000 clients at the end of June 2000. CM wants to have more than 165,000 clients by the end of 2000.

A third mobile operator in the Czech Republic

Article Abstract:

Cesky Mobil (CM) (Prague, Czech Republic), mobile operator, plans to invest CEK 500 mil in its mobile network by 2003. CM, which was set up at the beginning of 2000, has won 200,000 clients since Nov 2000. Its competitors on the Czech market are Eurotel (Czech Republic) and Radiomobil (Czech Republic). Eurotel had 1.65 mil clients and Radiomobil 1.5 mil clients in Sep 2000.
