Article Abstract:
Karosa (Vysoke Myto, Czech Republic), bus manufacturer, plans to invest over 1.3 bil Kc by the beginning of 2003. The investment, which is the highest investment in the firm's history, is divided into two stages. About 600 mil Kc will be invested in a new paint shop during the first stage. About 700 mil Kc will be invested in the installation of plate and sheet processing equipment, a welding shop, an assembly hall and power equipment during the second stage.

Viscofan Group goes on with massive investments in Czech Republic
Article Abstract:
Gamex (Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic), manufacturer of artificial skins for food products, has been extending its production since 1995. The investments are financed by the firm's owner, the world's foremost artificial skins manufacturer Viscofan Group (VG) (Spain), which acquired Gamex in 1995. VG invests about 100 mil Kc in Gamex per year. In 2001 Gamex should raise the number of employees from 500 to 600. Gamex is VG's only plant in central Europe.

CEZ's investments
Article Abstract:
CEZ (Prague, Czech Republic), power company, has to invest 100 bil Kc by 2050. The firm will invest in the Temelin Nuclear Power Station (TNPS) and the Dukovany Nuclear Power Station (DNPS). The level of the firm's estimated investments during the next 50 years is the same as the costs spent on the the construction of TNPS. TNPS should be commissioned in the autumn of 2000. DNPS has been in operation since 1985.
