HAL orders more TM333s

Article Abstract:

Turbomeca SA has received an order for 52 TM 333 turboshaft engines from Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL). The engine order, which will be used to power 20 Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH), follows an earlier order for 30 engines placed in Jul 1999. The order from HAL, aided by the US government's decision not to permit Honeywell from competing with its LHTEC CTS80 engine, consolidates Turbomeca's posotion as the only engine supplier for the ALH.
