Green on red

Article Abstract:

Greenpeace, an environmental group, will try to engage the Chinese government in environmental issues by trying to establish a foothold in the country through the expertise of the group's executive director Thilo Bode. Greenpeace argues that the world cannot cope with a rich China since this will result in unrestrained economic activities that will harm the environment. Greenpeace has little influence in Asia and is hoping to establish links in different Asian countries so as to improve the management of environmental issues.

Of mice and men

Article Abstract:

Latest computer mice are extremely sophisticated. They feature advanced ergonomics, and are designed to make many software programs easier to use. Mice are likely to undertake an increasingly wide range of roles as computer programs become more graphics-oriented. For people who use the Internet a great deal, using a conventional mouse can become painful. It is best to use a wheel- or scroll-button mouse in these circumstances. A touchpad makes it possible to avoid using a mouse altogether.

Clipped wings: South Korea's crisis grounds its jet-building plans

Article Abstract:

South Korea's financial crisis is set to suspend its aerospace industry's planned regional airliner project. Also at risk is South Korea's goal to be among the world's top five aircraft producers by 2005. Korean Commercial Aircraft Development Consortium's planned $1.2 billion, 70-seat AirJet project is grounded because of economic problems, while a proposed jet-fighter trainer aircraft, the KTK-2, is also in jeopardy.
