A more positive attitude

The Netherlands saw another drop in 2000 in the value of its buyout market and it is thought it may be down by a half on the figures for 1999. Prospects for 2001 look better and a series of measures should help boost the market.

The Netherland's buyout market is expected to achieve over 2.1 billion in 1999, after figures for 1998 showed strong growth and committment from venture capital suppliers. The small Belgian market reached record highs of 500 million pounds sterling during 1998, making it one of the best years on record for an area with much untapped potential.
