HSBC considers India, China for more moves

Article Abstract:

HSBC Holdings PLC is reviewing the possibility of transferring more of its back office operations into China and India, according to HSBC's chairman, John Bond. The London-based bank posted an improvement of 10% in its pretax profits to US$4.07 billion (3.81 billion euros) during the first-half of 1999. HSBC has quickly become one of the most profitable banks in the world.

ABN Amro seeks growth across Europe
