Heathrow makeover to heat up airline wars

The UK's Heathrow Airport in London will be opening a new terminal at the end of March 2008, which will enable the airport to service nearly 45% more air passengers. Terminal 5 will consolidate the lounges, planes, and baggage handlers of British Airways PLC into one location, streamlining passenger air travel processes.

BA starts to sell its last tickets on the Concorde

British Airways is begin selling Concorde flight tickets for the last time before it stops using the aircraft on October 24, 2003. BA operates the Concorde, which is being retired, between New York and London.

Boeing may get lift from Lufthansa

German airline Deutsche Lufthansa AG may order 20 of Boeing Co.'s updated 747-8 passenger jets. This would put pressure on rival Airbus, whose A380 jetliner was developed to replace the old 747s.
