Heimann meets demand

Heimann Systems has expanded its manufacturing plant in Alcoa, TN, doubling the working space and workforce at the facility. The Alcoa plant produces products for Heimann's Product and Security Inspection Divisions. The Product Division develops proprietary image recognition software for the detection of hidden contaminants and visual anomalies, while the Security Inspection Division produces x-ray units. The company is part of Germany's Rheinmetall group, and employs 430 people worldwide.

Magic Lantern goes out
Article Abstract:
Northrop Grumman Corp and Arete Assoc have been chosen to provide the mine detection system that will be placed aboard the Naval Reserve H-2G Seasprites. The choice of the light detection and ranging sensor system developed by Arete, a contract valued at $40 million, also signified the end of the use of Kaman Magic Lantern sensors on the Seasprite helicopters. The Magic Lanterns, developed by Lockheed Martin, were used extensively during Desert Storm.

US: FULLER HAS WON A CONTRACT
Article Abstract:
The American company Fuller, owned by the Danish group FLS, has been awarded a contract by the American cement producer Ash Grove. The contract includes supplying a production line with a capacity of 4,200 tonnes of clinker cement per day. This will make Ash Grove one of the biggest cement suppliers in North America. The production line will be taken into operation in the spring of 2001.
