Higher oil prices boost net, but company lowers target

Article Abstract:

TotalFinaElf S.A. posted higher net profits of 1.37 billion euros for the 2002 fourth quarter. The company, helped by higher oil prices, posted 652 millione euros in net profits for the same 2001 period. TotalFinaElf also reduced its financial target.

Oil firms report robust earnings on rise in prices

Article Abstract:

Royal Dutch/Shell Group and ChevronTexaco Corp. posted strong earnings for the 2003 first quarter. Both companies were helped by a hike in gas and oil prices brought about by the war in Iraq.

Exxon Mobil, BP and Total profit from oil mergers

Article Abstract:

BP PLC, Total S.A., and Exxon Mobil Corp. all profited from a series of acquisitions and mergers among big oil firms in the last few years. This is according to a Wood Mackenzie study.
