The number of teens going online in the US is projected to grow to 16.6 million in 2002, accounting for $1.3 billion in Internet-based revenues. The huge potential of this market has spurred a number of companies to create online communities to attract the loyalty and money of this youthful consumer sector. However, most of the teen-targeted sites are still in the preliminary stages of luring target market and thus, are still not profitting from the online communities.

Master of their .tv domain

Article Abstract:

.TV Corp of Toronto, Ontario, has been awarded the global right to license and market the .tv domain name on behalf of the South Pacific Island of Tuvalu. The company is seeking to centralize the television content at .tv by convincing media companies, particularly the television market, to attach a .tv suffix to their properties. Tuvalu will initially charge registrants $1,000 plus $500 renewal fee.
