At France Telecom, battle to cut jobs breeds odd tactics

France Telecom S.A. is considering privatization and may face large employee turnover. Two thirds of employees are considered civil servants which guarantees them employment for life. The telecommunications giant, to encourage voluntary departures is financing employee business ventures and finding them placements in the public sector.

France Telecom rebrands products under orange tag

Article Abstract:

France Telecom S.A. is planning to rebrand most products under the name Orange, the company name of its cell phone operations. The marketing campaign will cost 175 million Euros ($225 million). The marketing plan is hoped will increase market share in a competitive global market.
