How integrated is rural planning?

Article Abstract:

In England rural planning will benefit from changes in the EC's Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and a 'Countryside Stewardship' strategy. In Scotland the relevant bodies are working on integrating their schemes. In Ireland CAP reform is seen as detrimental to their countryside, and they hope to gain further EC funding. In Wales quotas for sheep were seen as a potential worry. In Northern Ireland the different government departments worked together more harmoniously on rural issues than in other parts of the UK.
