Americans are denouncing the International Monetary Fund for using taxpayers' dollars to help beleaguered Asian crisis. Though helping Asian nations may or may not further US interests, numerous Americans appear unconvinced that the US is binded to rescue troubled Asian countries. U.S., Japan take defense plans on a roadshow to Beijing

Article Abstract:

The Japanese and the US governments are trying to make China understand that it is not the target of their proposed cooperative defense programs. Representatives from the US and Japan went to China on separate visits to convince the Chinese government that the cooperative efforts of the US and Japan regarding security issues are not meant to guard against the potential threat represented by China.
