'Iconic' Renault at risk

Article Abstract:

Renault Center in Swindon, Norman Foster's earliest and most proclaimed pieces of work has come under the threat of substantial redevelopment by the new owner Burford Properties. Twentieth Century Society caseworker Cordula Zeidler claimed that as the building is presently under threat she is absolutely confident that it would be spot listed at Grade II* by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.

Superstars bail out White City

Article Abstract:

Richard MacCormac is appointed to fill in for Ian Ritchie's shock exit from the hugely troubled 1.5 billion pounds White City shopping center project in west London. MacCormac is working alongside Richard Rogers and Ricky Burdett in a bid to rescue developer Westfield's vast plans for one of Europe's biggest shopping centers after Ritchie left the scheme in 2005.

A study in hardship

Article Abstract:

Students of architecture face difficulty in paying very high fees and the crisis is compounded by the financial crunch in their RIBA hardship fund. The aid given by the independent Architectural Education Trust is sure to solve the problems of the students to a certain extent but the RIBA needs to proactively raise funds to solve the problem.
