Ikea to build its own ads; retailer drops U.K. agency, plans to refocus message on exisitng customers

Article Abstract:

In its U.K. market, where it has about 26 million customers, closely-held Swedish low-cost furniture retailer Ikea is cutting its marketing budget by dropping its U.K. agency, St. Luke's. Opening 20 new stores over the next 10 years, Ikea says, could become more difficult as building permits are harder to get.
