Clinton rejects capital ties

Bill Clinton has announced he will not use capital restrictions to influence Chinese social policy. In addition, former National Security Council director, Roger W. Clinton may seek legacy in international agenda: president will have to show firmness and vision in his foreign-policy accomplishments

Article Abstract:

Political pundits predict that US Pres Bill Clinton will actively seek a foreign policy agenda to reclaim the lost glory of his career. The impeachment trial and the sex scandal involving former White House intern Monica Lewinsky have clouded the achievements of Clinton's two-term presidency. However, the approach of the year 2000 presidential elections might snatch away the president's focus on foreign relations. Problems with China's admission into the World Trade Organization will have to wait pending Clinton's more pressing domestic agenda.
