In a Mexican Court, life imitates art -- surrealist art

Article Abstract:

Remedios Varo, an important 20th century Spanish born surrealist painter became an icon in her adopted homeland of Mexico. She died intestate and there is a court battle over ownership of her paintings, between her lover Walter Gruen and Beatriiz Varo, a niece she barely knew. Mr. Gruen and Ms. Varo became lovers, moving in together in 1952 and his financial and emotional support gave her the stability she needed to paint full-time.

Article Abstract:

Petroeos Mexicanos of Mexico is forecasting a decline in oil production that would add to global petroleum supply woes and concerns regarding inflated oil prices. The worst projections predict a decline to 875,000 barrels per day by 2008 and a decline to 520,000 barrels per day by 2009. If projections are on spec petroleum output would decrease by 1 million barrels per day.
