Incoming tourism

Article Abstract:

Spending in the U.K. by overseas travellers rose by 30% between 1990 and 1995, with traffic from incoming tourists increasing by 24% during the period. Most incoming tourists came from the European Union during 1993, led by France and Germany. Among the most popular tourist destinations in the U.K. are Alton Towers, Madam Tussaud's and the Tower of London. It is expected that the number of foreign visitors to the U.K. will rise to 25.8 million visits by 2000.
