Compusearch Micromarketing Data and Systems and Canada Post Corp have joined forces to launch GeoPost Plus, a service that is touted as capable of permitting direct marketers to better target potential clients using unaddressed mail advertisements. The service, which is available free of charge to direct marketers, makes use of Compusearch's PSYTE market segmentation system in conjunction with media and marketing databases from Statistics Canada, ACNielsen and the Print Measurement Bureau.

Good things in big packages

Article Abstract:

ICOM Information and Communications Inc of Toronto, Canada, is unveiling PAQ (Package Assembly Equipment), a new sample-insertion technology that allows bigger packages to be mailed. The system allows marketers to avail of a diverse range of product sample packaging options, such as tube, box or bottle, which can be sent to target homes through the mail. The company and Canadian Post (CP) have entered into a deal, allowing the firm to utilized CP's Addressed Admail Oversized Plus product.

Bell screen nuisances

Bell Canada Inc is launching a telephone service called 'Call Privacy.' The debuting service has been designed to intercept unidentified callers before the phone rings and give customers the option of accepting, rejecting or sending calls to voice mail. With the service, individuals can avoid nuisance calls. 'Call Privacy' is being promoted by two 30- second TV ads conceptualized by Cossette Communication-Marketing.
