LG selects Wales as site for 2 factories in investment that sets Korean record

Article Abstract:

LG Group of South Korea will invest $2.64 billion in the construction of two factories in Wales. One of the plants is for its electronic unit, LG Electronics, while the other is for its semiconductor unit, LG Semicon. The project is a first for both South Korea and Europe. It is the largest foreign investment ever made by a South Korean company, and is also the biggest single investment in Europe made by an outsider.

Cirkisys Technology Ltd is a company based in Hong Kong that struggled with competition and lack of capital before finding a niche market and became profitable. The company was originally a consulting firm but the founders decided to diversify into manufacturing Chinese character pagers and other communications equipment. The company currently enjoys a good market share.
