China's growing taste for photography is good development for film company

Article Abstract:

The price of China-Hongkong Photo Products Holdings' stock is soaring as a result of rising demand for photographic film and related products and services in China. Film consumption in China stands at only 5.3 rolls annually, far below that of other countries. Nevertheless, a growing number of Chinese have begun turning to photography during their leisure time. This, together with the large number of tourists in China, are propelling the market for China-Hongkong Photo's products upward.

Interest from Arco prompts look at Zhenhai

Article Abstract:

Atlantic Richfield's (Arco) purchase of convertible bonds valued at US$128 million from Zhenhai Refining & Chemical has sparked interest from other investors. Although Class H shares have been found to be bad investments, analysts acknowledge Zhenhai as one of the premier refineries in China with a high-quality asset base and considerable experience under liberalized conditions. Arco is a large petroleum firm whose increased stake in Zhenhai was deemed a vote of confidence.

Korean slush-fund scandal may be sweet for investors

The slush-fund scandal which has reached the highest levels of the South Korean government has caused share prices of the country's largest firms to tumble. This general decline in share prices presents investors with an opportunity to purchase stock while prices are at bargain levels. Experts predict that the country's stock market will be buoyed up by strong economic growth.
