Indonesian court convicts cleric

Article Abstract:

Muslim cleric Abu Bakar Baasyir has been convicted of treason and immigration charges in Indonesia. Bassyir was acquitted of being the head of a terrorist network in Southeast Asia. However, the cleric was also convicted of attempting to overthrow the government of Indonesia.

France raids Iran resistance group

The People's Mujahedin of Iran, an Iranian resistance group, had its Paris offices raided by French police. The group is suspected of being involved in terrorism amidst major protests in Tehran, Iran.

Islamists suspected in India attack

Two massive car bomb explosions occurred in Bombay, India's financial district. The explosions, believed to have been planned by Islamists, killed 44 and wounded 150.
