Article Abstract:

An order for 9 additional CN-235 aircraft for Turkey has been added to the order for 52 units originally awarded to Spanish aeronautical engineering company Casa (Construcciones Aeronauticas). The total order is worth some US$ 900mn (Pta 125,100mn). The Turkish Coast Guard will receive three of the aircraft while the Turkish Navy will operate six units. The aircraft will be produced by TAI (Tusa Aerospace Industries), and industrial partner of Casa. *

The Spanish electricity operator Endesa will not participate in the privatization of the Brazilian company Generadora del Sur de Brasil (Gerasul). Bids, which have to be presented before September 1st 1998, will try to acquire the 50.01% stake of ordinary shares (42% of the social capital) the Brazilian Government is selling. Gerasul runs three hydroelectric and three thermal power stations. *
