Information theory as a unifying statistical approach for use in marketing research

Article Abstract:

Information theoretic methods unify different quantitative modelling techniques used to solve market research problems requiring decision making under uncertainty. This is highlighted in the use of Aikake's Information Criterion for stochastic model selection as well as the derivation and goodness-of-fit testing of individual-choice marketing models for market segmentation and brand shifting choices.

Chance constrained programming approaches to congestion in stochastic data environment analysis

Article Abstract:

An attempt is made for treating congestion in data envelopment analysis (DEA) using models that are extended by according them chance constrained programming formulations. Further simplifying assumptions that allow us to identify conditions under which appearances of congestion with associated probabilities can be determined in a straightforward manner are introduced.
