A celebration of spirit

Article Abstract:

Many events will be held in the Philippines around the time of the official celebration of 100 years of independence on Jun 12, 1998. It is hoped that these events will attract many visitors to the Philippines, as well as serving to increasing patriotic pride among Filipinos. Considerable emphasis will be placed on the fact that the economy of the Philippines has expanded dramatically over recent years and that the country has good reason to be optimistic about its prospects in the 21st century.

Article Abstract:

The Apec Business Advisory Council, consisting of three business leaders from each of the 18 Apec economies, will present their proposals on cross-boarder flows, finance and investment, infrastructure, small and medium-sized enterprises and regional economic and technical cooperation, one day before the November summit meeting in the Philippines. Apec members will be asked to embrace the non-binding Abac doctrine.
