The New York Stock Exchange has named John Reed as its interim chief executive and chairman. Reed will have to deal with the exchange's planned corporate governance overhaul, as well as an investigation into charges of illegal trading on the NYSE.

President quits Goldman Sachs to teach in China

Article Abstract:

Goldman Sachs Group Inc.'s president, John Thornton, has resigned from his post to teach in China. Thornton, once a top candidate to become Goldman's chief executive, will teach at Tsinghua University in Beijing.
