Italy weighs limiting clout of News Corp

Article Abstract:

New legislation designed to restrict the influence of News Corp. in Italy is being considered by the Italian government. The new legislation would limit News Corp.'s and media tycoon Rupert Murdoch's moves in Italy's television market. Mr. Murdoch is aggressively attempting to expand into Italy's budding digital television market. News Corp. signed a preliminary deal to takeover Stream SpA, Telecom Italia SpA's pay-TV division. This is part of News Corp. expansion into the Italian TV market.

Women in Italy like to clean but shun the quick and easy

Market research of Italian women in Europe has discovered that they spend an average of 21 hours a week on household chores (excluding cooking) compared with four hours for American women. The market research discovered that Italian women like tough cleaners and are not interested in labor-saving conveniences.
