Jaisara Tooling Systems Pvt Ltd of Secunderabad in Andhra Pradesh is the first company to have indigenised engine overhaul tooling system for Air-India. The overhaul tooling system was designed for the Jumbo 747-400 aircraft engines. It has also designed and produced press tools, jigs and fixtures, metal moulds and patterns and other tools for the defence department and public and private sector companies. It is also the approved vendor for UT-Pratt & Whitney, a world leader in aircraft engines. Jaisara Tooling Systems Pvt Ltd has earned more than US$ 300,000 in the last 2 years by exporting its tooling systems to UT-Pratt & Whitney. Its managing director is Manohar Rao Vangoori. (ag/kvr)

PARTNERS AGREE ON NEW STRUCTURE FOR UDIL

Article Abstract:

The UB group and United Distillers (UD), a subsidiary of Guinness Plc of UK, are to re-structure United Distillers India Ltd (UDIL), a joint venture company. As per the new structure, UDIL will now be a 50:50 tie-up between the UB group and Diageo, a company formed by the merger of Guinness Plc and Grand Metropolitan Plc. With effect from November 2, 1998, UDIL will become a liquor production company. McDowell & Co Ltd (MCL) and International Distillers India (IDI) will sell the UDIL products. An executive panel comprising 3 representatives each of MCL and IDI and 2 of UDIL will monitor the business of UDIL. (ag)
