JCT moves towards hard-nosed definition of contract rights

Article Abstract:

JCT's standard form of construction contract is discussed with two approaches. One view point has too many people spending time on the clauses changing simple words to ensure a cohesive result, the other view point is that the standard forms is negotiations between rival industry interests and the result is an absolute compromise.

The future of adjudication is still unclear because of politics

However, a new construction minister with different priorities tends to sideline the review.

The Channel tunnel rail link redevelopment at King's cross comprises three distinct projects, each of which presents its own problems. The development of the main ticket hall, floor retiling, issues with the contractor are some of the problems that are confronted with today.
