Japan auto makers cut domestic output in April

Article Abstract:

Nissan Motor Co. and Toyota Motor Corp. reduced production in April due to weaker vehicle demand, which may reach its lowest level in more than 20 years. Nissan's Japan production dropped 20.6%, with domestic sales decreasing by 8.6%; Toyota's production fell by 4.2%, with domestic sales decreasing by 11.7%. Honda Motor Co. however upped production by 7.4%.

Auto makers target India: Nissan and Renault work on $3,000 car for growing market

Article Abstract:

Renault S.A. and Nissan Motor Co. are working to develop and produce a low-cost vehicle for the rapidly emerging market in India. The car, which would sell for approximately $3,000, is expected to help pull the two automakers out of a recent slump in sales.

Volvo to buy 13% of Nissan Diesel in Asian push

Article Abstract:

Volvo AB of Sweden is to buy a 13 percent stake for 1.5 billion Swedish Kronor ($195 million) in Nissan Diesel Motor Co. of Japan. The Scandinavian truck manufacturer plans to push market share in Asia.
