Japan's NTT 4 calls up investors

Article Abstract:

Nippon Telephone and Telegraph, the world's largest telecommunication company, raised $7.29 billion with a stock offering. The stocks were listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange on December 15. The offering was described as the first Japanese privatisation issued offered to the U.S. market in an effort by the Ministry of Finance to test the U.S. market.

UAE free zone offering

Article Abstract:

Saadiyat Free Zone's intital public offering is slated for end of October 1998, making it largest ever in United Arab Emirates. Saadiyat Development Co. wishes to attract local and foreign investors to buy some of 51.5% equity of company. The free zone will be located on Saadiyat Island off coast of Abu Dhabi.
