Jones ditched in Gresham revolution

Some industry observers have suggested the replacement of Gresham Trust Managing Director Trevor Jones by Paul Marson-Smith was not foreseen by Jones. Gresham had brought in the Prudential Venture Managers Former Managing Director Paul Brooks to help the company change its strategy to a mid-market buyout operation. Gresham had additional investment funds of up to 50 million pounds sterling from its parent company Eagle Star. The appointment of Marson-Smith was in conjunction with the appointment of Brooks as non-executive deputy chairman.

Former HSBC mezzanine head joins Swedish bank

Article Abstract:

SEB Acquisition Finance has appointed Simon Wheatley as an executive. Wheatley was formerly head of HSBC Specialised Finance's mezzanine division. SEB Acquisition Finance, which is part of the merchant banking division of Sweden's Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken, was created in early 1997 and already boasts 15 deals of which four are mezzanine. Wheatley's former colleague at HSBC Jonathan Franks has also been recruited by SEB.
