Judge blasts court criticisms

Article Abstract:

Philippine Chief Justice Andres Narvasa has reacted negatively to the criticisms published by the Asian Wall Street Journal and other Philippine dailies against the Philippine Supreme Court. Narvasa labelled the reports as 'gossip' and 'shop-worn,' and pointed at the quality and integrity of judges of the Supreme Court. Narvasa also stated that the 'perceived inconsistency' is due to the judges' interpretation of the Constitution.
